Half-life is due out in November, when the trees turn bald and everything goes into hiding. The game comunity online is euphoric and, no doubt, the guys at Valve is more than relieved to let it all out. However, the big question that lies ahead is not if it would be sabotaged by hackers yet another time, (unlikely), or if the ending would be leaked out (likely), but whether or not it can live up to its reputation.. I, for one, am satisfied after reading PC Gamer's review of the game. (they got to it before the public did). Tay was as usual unwilling to let people read his mags, so i had to buy it from him. Some idiots. So i did him a favour and put his picture in honour of ol' Gordon Freeman (look left).

Got the minimum specs to run HL2?

  • 700 mhz CPU
  • 128MB Ram
  • DX6 3D card

CS Source

CS Source, one of the first 'mods' using the source engine from HL2 is still going beta and, we're told, being subjected to rigorous testing. Which is good, really, since i'm sure you don't want to see bouncing heads that wouldn't respawn. But Valve is involved in the project, so no worries about quality control. Now, we've just have to wait and see how much they charge via Steam.

Need a rig?

If you're a gamer then you've probably heard of Alienware at one time or another. They custom make powerful machines specifically to the user's taste, and they do it well. The casing alone is loaded with fins and LEDs that define cool and use only top notch electronics. More than enough for HL2.
